The Kasbah of Tifoultoute
Our neighbour: a Glaoui kasbah on its hill above the Ouarzazate river, a short walk from the riad gate. Go late in the afternoon and come back for sunset on the roof.
Five minutes on foot from the riad. Visiting arrangements for the interior change: ask at reception before you set off.

The Fint oasis
A green valley of palms and village paths enclosed by bare rock. Walk it with a local guide, or reach it by quad, buggy or on horseback.
Allow a half day. Fint is a lived-in farming oasis: keep to the paths through the gardens and ask before photographing people.

UNESCO World Heritage
Aït Ben Haddou
The earthen ksar above the Ounila river, about half an hour from the riad. Walk the lanes up to the granary with a local guide, ideally in the late afternoon light.
About 30 minutes by car or grand taxi. The lanes are steep and uneven: wear shoes with grip. Quad, buggy and horse rides also go there.

Kasbahs of the south
Taourirt in the centre of town, Amridil in the palms of Skoura, Telouet on the old Atlas road: earthen architecture with a guide who knows its stories.
Taourirt is 10 minutes from the riad by car, Amridil about 38 km east on the N10. Which rooms are open varies: we check before you go.

Atlas Studios and film sets
The studios on the Marrakech road, five minutes from the riad, the CLA Studios next door and the Cinema Museum facing Kasbah Taourirt.
Visits are guided. Atlas is a working studio, so the sets you see depend on what is filming that day; opening times and tickets change, and reception checks them the day before.

Desert excursions
Down the Drâa valley through Agdz and Zagora towards the dunes near M’Hamid or the remote Erg Chegaga, with a night in a camp.
Two days or more. “Desert” can mean very different trips: we ask for the exact camp location and route before you book, and plan an early breakfast to go.
